This aluminium side plate is an original Empacher component for single action ball bearing seat carriages. The side plate determines the seat height above the slide rails and therefore directly affects the rower’s position in the boat.
Function
The side plate forms the vertical element of the seat carriage. Together with the ball bearing undercarriage and the seat top, it defines the effective seat height.
