Rowing rigger pins for a stable oarlock

Mounting & span adjustment

At the tip of the rigger there is usually a slot. The pin passes through this slot and is secured underneath the rigger with an M12 nut. By moving the pin inwards or outwards in the slot you adjust the span (the distance between the port and starboard pins). Oarlock height is fine-tuned with washers and, if required, height clips.

• The pin is locked under the rigger with an M12 nut
• On top, depending on the design, you may use an M8 top bolt or nut
• Nylon washers are used as simple height spacers under the gate

• The oarlock pin safety cap (“bumper”) clicks over an M8 flange nut and protects other boats in the rack

Maintenance

• Check pins regularly for bending or damaged threads
• Replace pins when you notice play in the oarlock
• Make sure the M12 nut under the rigger is properly tightened
• Replace worn nylon washers or height clips in time
