- Check the fit between gudgeons and rudder pin regularly; too much play leads to vague or delayed steering.
- Ensure the steering seat moves freely along the steering bar tube without friction or binding.
- Keep the rudder blade, pin and gudgeons clean – dirt or corrosion affects movement and steering precision.
