Deck Covers & Tape for Rowing Boats
Deck covering & tape – for sealing the deck-to-hull joint at the bow and stern of wooden rowing shells.
The deck covering (taffeta) creates a tight, watertight seal between deck and hull. It’s fixed with double-sided deck tape and finished with woven Tesa tape. Transparent PVC tape is used for temporary sealing or quick repairs. Anti-slip tape provides secure footing on the stretcher platform (between the slides) when entering or exiting the boat.
Included
- Deck covering (silver-grey) – by the metre or full roll, for sealing the deck-to-hull joint at bow and stern.
- Double-sided deck tape – attaches the covering without adhesive residue.
- Woven Tesa tape – for finishing and reinforcing the edges.
- Transparent PVC tape – for temporary sealing of cracks or seams.
- Anti-slip tape – for the stretcher platform (between the slides).
Use
- Apply the deck covering tightly over the deck-to-hull joint at bow and stern.
- Secure with double-sided tape and finish edges with woven Tesa tape.
- Use PVC tape only for temporary protection or repair.
Application
Used on classic wooden racing and training shells to make bow and stern compartments watertight.
