SST nuts
SST nuts – durable fasteners for riggers, foot stretchers and steering components.
Stainless steel nuts in various types and sizes (M4 to M12). Suitable for nearly all assembly points in a rowing boat – from wing riggers to foot stretchers and steering systems.

Applications
SST nuts are commonly used for mounting riggers, foot stretchers, rudder systems and steering seats. Self-locking types are ideal for high-vibration connections, such as in racing shells. Wing nuts make quick adjustments easy, especially for adjustable foot stretchers or steering setups.
Practical tips
- Always use SST washers with carbon or aluminium to avoid point pressure on the surface.
- Combine nuts and bolts from the same stainless steel grade to prevent galling or corrosion.
- Keep a small set of spare wing nuts in your toolbox – useful during training or regattas.
