Aluminium wing rigger (R)
Empacher R-rigger (aluminium back wing rigger) – stiff, stable and low-maintenance.
The Empacher R-wing rigger is designed for modern R-type sweep and sculling shells. The wide aluminium wing provides a very stiff platform, keeping oarlock height stable under load and giving a direct, predictable stroke. Available in sweep versions (port/starboard) and sculling versions.
R-rigger: aluminium wing design
The R-rigger is mounted on the gunwale of R-type Empacher shells. The wide wing increases torsional stiffness and helps the hull stay under control in headwind, crosswind or rough water. The welded aluminium construction is corrosion-resistant and easy to handle for daily club use.

Use & ordering
- When ordering, always specify hull serial number, seat number (counted from the bow) and side (port/starboard for sweep, scull position for sculling).
- Make sure all contact surfaces and bolt holes are clean and free of burrs.
- Mount the wing with the correct Empacher R-type bolt set; tighten nuts hand tight first to avoid stressing the hull.
- After installation, check pin, bush and oarlock for play.
