Carbon front wing rigger (X)
Empacher X-rigger (carbon bow wing rigger) – the latest, stiff and highly direct front-wing rigger for modern racing shells.
The X-rigger is Empacher’s most advanced carbon bow wing rigger, designed for maximum stiffness, low aerodynamic drag and a very stable oarlock position. The wing is mounted behind the rower, towards the bow, directly on the gunwale. The construction is so stiff that the pin position remains exact, even under full load.
Why choose the X-rigger?
The X-rigger is lighter and stiffer than the aluminium bow wing rigger. The carbon wing prevents torsion during the catch and drive, keeping the blade stable and predictable in the water. Scullers in particular will notice the direct feel and smooth run of the boat.

Use & mounting
- When ordering, always specify hull serial number and seat number.
- Mount only on a clean, burr-free gunwale surface using the correct Empacher bolt set.
- Tighten bolts finger-tight first, then tighten evenly in a cross pattern.
- After installation, check rowing pins, oarlocks and topstays for correct alignment and play.
